Assessment is regularly used to allow us to make informal judgements about the abilities, knowledge and attitudes of the children in our care.
Future planning and teaching is based on these results according to the needs of the children.
Formal assessment takes place at the end of Year 2 and Year 6 in the form of national SATs (Standard Assessments Tasks). These are analysed externally.
In addition, the teachers in Years 3 to 5 use less formal, optional SATs. We use the information gleaned to analyse the specific needs of children.

Details of last year’s SATs results are available on this web site. This year’s results (2008) will be published as soon as they are received.
Pupils and parents may wish to visit some of the sites on our useful links page for additional information and additional support materials.
