Teaching and Organisation
St. Marie’s is a one form entry school and children are taught in their year group as follows:
Nursery 3 and 4 years
Reception 4 and 5 years
Year 1, 5 and 6 years
Year 2, 6 and 7 years
Year 3, 7 and 8 years
Year 4, 8 and 9 years
Year 5, 9 and 10 years
Year 6, 10 and 11 years
Children are usually admitted to the nursery for a part-time place the term after their third birthday. Children enter school in September following their fourth birthday. A variety of teaching methods are used including whole class, individual and small group teaching.
